Handling Bad Beats

Great reprint of an article by Ed Miller in the August 11, 2010 issue (Vol. 23, No. 16) of Card Player magazine.

I read this in the Noted Poker Authority blog, one of the poker blogs I like to follow.

One of the main points he makes is one that's been noted here over and over again: Playing the right odds and making the right play doesn't guarantee that you'll win any specific given hand. But, over time, it will be the profitable way to play. If you can keep that in mind, the bad beats sting (a little) less.

the cards are not faithful to anyone, and are very treacherous you have to have ability to play poker if you want to win and not just strategy, it is often a matter of luck, and so as you can win with bad hands, so too can do it good hands all is to observe the game well hit when due and have lots of patience to wait for the best hand and start winning in the game ...........

The best way to handle bad beats is to realize that they happen to everyone even the best players. Quite honestly I think they happen more to good players than bad players because good players are often ahead and as everyone knows the farther ahead you are before the bad beat occurs the sicker the beat. I tend to forget about beats and I just laugh when they happen now. :)
