In Constanta, you will find two Merkur Casinos, one on Mamaia Boulevard no 264, and one on Cismelei Street. They are both relatively new, but they're drawing quite a lot of attention thanks to their game offer.
They are not incredibly big, but they do offer a lot of games. Unfortunately, all of them are electronical: Blackjack, Roulette and Slots. Personally, I've tried them all.
Although there is no poker there, the Slots are very different one from another. I played a game similar to Cleopatra's Gold, with ancient egyptian hieroglyphs, where I doubled my betting sum (15 euros doubled to 30) from one single spin! The people in Constanta are more attracted to what we call "fruit machines", and Merkur Casino has many of them. There are slots with race car drivers, playing cards, cars, fruits and all sorts of objects, each with a progressive jackpot worth tens of thousands of euros.
After the slots, I tried the Electronic Roulette at Merkur Casino. It has 8 seats, you can see the roulette but the ball is automatically released, and the bets are electronic as well. You are given a touch screen pad where you can bet a number, a row, the orphans, the odd or even numbers, etc. Basically, it's the same as a real roulette only it's electronic. The first time I won 10 euros there, but after that I lost 30, but I wasn't that used to the game, so I made some silly bets. However, the game is absolutely fabulous, and the casino is great. In large casinos in Constanta and, as I've seen, in Bucharest as well, you get a drink for free if you gamble
I haven't tried the electronic BlackJack though, but many of my friends did. You're one on one with the house, and if you know the rules and have some game experience, it's not that hard to make some money.
Personally, I enjoyed my experience at Merkur Casino. There aren't may highrollers there, so everyone can play. It's pretty fun, too
