In tournaments, especially in freerolls and low stake ones, in the starting stages, there is that category of all-iners, which I personally profoundly loath, so if you take it seriously and do not have a very good hand, it is better to stay away for the first 4-5 hands or so. Of course, the downside of this is that afterward you will have to battle a player with 4 times your worth of chips, but I for example am quite comfortable with that. It's still better than going bankrupt in the first or second hand...
