How much would you bet on a horse?

Even if you're not into horse races, or even if you don't particularly like horses, how much would you bet on one? And assuming you don't have any knowledge on the background of these games, how would you pick your winner?

Yes, like the stock market will trip and break it's leg.
The stock market is a totally different thing than any other activity concerning money. The most important this is that on the stock market you only have to make two decisions BUY or SELL, that's it. Horses are trickier . They have hooves and wavy hair.
I wouldn't bet too much on a horse, but if it's name was "TheWinningHorse" I'd think more.
