How does PayPal work?
PayPal enables its customers to securely send and receive online payments. At paypal.com users can comfortably transfer money to friends, relatives and online merchants without charge.
Depositing funds to the PayPal account via bank transfer is free. Other depositing methods include Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
The advantage of PayPal is that users do not have to reveal their credit card number to the merchant.
PayPal was founded in California in 1998. Four years later it was acquired by eBay and today it is available online in more than 190 countries and regions.
How can I send money with PayPal?
Simply visit the PayPal website and click “Send Money” at the top of the page. After having entered the necessary information, users get the opportunity to open an account with PayPal for free. Once users have signed up they are able to transfer higher amounts of money.
How can I withdraw money from my PayPal account?
Whoever likes betting with online bookmakers like bwin or Betfair might win a nice lot of money, which can then be withdrawn with PayPal for instance.
The recipient is informed about incoming payments by e-mail. If he has not signed up for an account yet, he needs to do so now so he can withdraw his funds.
PayPal customers can either transfer their money to a bank account or they can request a check.
Of course the funds can also be spent online instead.
Are there any fees associated with transferring money via PayPal?
As long as the money is sent and received in the same currency, users do not have to pay any fees. If the money was transferred in another currency than it is withdrawn, a fee of 2.5% will be incurred.
PayPal Personal accounts have limits on the amount of funds they can receive per year and are assessed a transaction fee.
If customers want to withdraw their funds to a non-US bank account, fees might also be charged (depends on amount).

PayPal members are allowed to transfer $ 10,000 at a time. Non-members can transfer up to $ 4,000 at a time.
