John Juanda

The professional poker player Johnson “John” Juanda, also known as JJ, was born on July 8th, 1971. He was born in Medan, North Sumatra, in Indonesia as the son of Chinese immigrants. John’s parents, Hadi and Kurniaty, were still very young when they had John and during John’s childhood they were very busy starting up a business. Thus, along with his younger siblings, two brothers and one sister, John was raised more or less by his grandparents. His parents only saw their children a couple of times a week at family dinners..
